In operation since 1975, Sunnyside is one of the area’s longest running early childhood centers, offering quality care for children ages 18 months through five years. The Center is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Sunnyside was one of 10 programs nationwide to be chosen as an exemplary program for Engaging Diverse Families from NAEYC (click on Sunnyside at this site to read our profile).

Who we are

Our staff consists of a director, a curriculum director, an office manager, and twelve teachers. The Executive Director oversees the program with the Director of Curriculum, while the teachers share responsibility for curriculum planning, classroom environments, daily teaching, and communication with parents.

Our teachers are friendly and enthusiastic, as well as experienced and highly skilled. All teaching staff must meet state EEC requirements for education and experience. Smith College work-study students supplement our staff. Consultants affiliated with Sunnyside include a health care consultant and an educational consultant.
